Welcome to Osteopatic Studies
Our mission and philosophyFor osteopaths, by osteopaths. With open mind and open heart studying together.
Studying is nice, studying together is nicer and more effective. Exchanging experiences about what you feel in your patient. Skilled collegues telling about sensing, feeling, about their perception, liking to share this during courses. Emphasising perception in osteopathy is the mission of Osteopathic Studies. Exchanging knowledge and skills out of love for our profession is our philosophy.Course
Osteopathic Studies wants to renew the attention to “sensing/feeling” as an important pillar of osteopathy. To put the “subjective” and the “objective” side by side for the whole image. The perception next to the knowledge, not of minor importance. The better you can feel and name what you feel, the more effective your treatment will be!Course
“The Osteopath who succeeds best does so because he looks to Nature for knowledge and obeys her teachings….."
A.T. Still - Osteopathy Research and Practice
Just like A.T. Still we consider the sensing/perception as an essential part of osteopathy. The better you can feel and name what you feel, the more effective your treatment will be. A.T. Still didn’t teach techniques to his students. He wanted them to find out themselves what the body needs. This observing, perceiving is learning by experience. To go deeper into this, it is important to discuss with eachother the “phenomena” you perceive in your patient. Within the activities Osteopathic Studies will undertake, this will be play an important role.Course
